Terms & Conditions
This document sets out the terms for using Secure PDF Editor. Please read it before using the PDF tools.
1. Introduction & Definitions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Secure PDF Editor (Hungary) (“Provider”) browser-based, client-side PDF tools (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you (“User”) agree to these Terms.
2. Service Description
The Service provides tools for local, client-side processing of PDF documents, including features such as merging, splitting, compression, image conversion, OCR, signing, watermarking, page organization and password protection. Processing is designed to happen in your browser and typically does not upload your files to our server. Certain functions may be unsupported, and features, performance or availability may change from time to time.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
The current public PDF tools are intended to be usable without creating an account first. If account features are made available, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. The Provider may limit or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
4. Permitted Use
Use the Service only for lawful purposes. Prohibited activities include: processing illegal content; reverse engineering or abusive automated load; bypassing security controls; or any activity that infringes others’ rights or the Provider’s interests.
5. Warranty & Liability Disclaimer
The Secure PDF Editor (Hungary) provides the Service “as is” and “as available,” without any express or implied warranty, including fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, or uninterrupted/ error‑free operation.
- Compression quality: If you apply aggressive compression and the PDF’s visual quality degrades, this is not the Provider’s responsibility.
- Password management: If you protect a document with a password and later forget or lose the password, any loss of access or data is not the Provider’s responsibility.
- Image conversion: If you convert a text‑based PDF to images and afterwards the text is not selectable/searchable, that is an inherent consequence of rasterization and not the Provider’s responsibility.
- Password‑protected PDFs: Decryption/removal of protection is not supported by the Service; any third‑party method is outside our control and at your own risk.
- OCR & recognition errors: OCR (where available) is not guaranteed to be error‑free; recognition inaccuracies are not our responsibility.
- Data loss: For any local (client‑side) processing‑related data loss, file corruption, or compatibility issue, the Provider assumes no liability. Always keep backups.
6. Free Access, Billing and Paid Features
- Free access: The current edition provides access to the main PDF tools without a required subscription.
- Future paid features: The Provider may add optional paid features, account features, plans or subscriptions later. If that happens, pricing and plan contents may change.
- Cancellation: If a paid subscription is offered and you subscribe, cancellation terms will be shown during the checkout or account flow.
- Refunds: Refunds for paid services, if any are offered, are handled according to the terms shown at purchase and any mandatory consumer protection laws.
- Payment processors: Payments are typically handled by third-party processors. Their systems and handling of payment data are outside the Provider’s direct control.
7. Privacy
The Service is designed for client-side processing. The Provider does not seek to store copies of your documents. Limited information may be processed when you contact us, use account/payment features, or interact with site functionality. For details, read the Privacy Policy.
8. Advertising, Cookies and Third-Party Services
The Service may display advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertising providers, consent management tools, hosting providers, payment processors and external websites may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies and may process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Where required by law, the site may ask for cookie or advertising consent. Refusing non-essential advertising cookies may still allow limited or non-personalized ads where permitted. More information is available in the Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service and related materials/software are protected by copyright and other IP laws. You obtain no ownership rights—only a non‑exclusive, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Provider disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including—without limitation—lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or reputational harm.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Provider harmless from any claims, losses, damages, and expenses arising from your unlawful use or breach of these Terms.
12. Changes & Suspension
The Provider may modify, suspend or discontinue the Service, including features, access rules, pricing or plan contents, at any time. Material changes will be communicated within a reasonable time frame where practical.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes amicably; failing that, and to the extent permitted by law, the courts of Budapest shall have jurisdiction.
